Entry notice basics
Most Illinois leases require reasonable notice before non-emergency entry. Chicago RLTO tenants often expect stricter habits than a bare statewide lease.
Operator habit that survives disputes:
- Write the date, time window, and reason (repair, inspection, showing).
- Deliver the way your lease allows (email, text log, posted notice).
- Log the contact in the same place you keep maintenance tickets.
